This tea pot was commissioned by Mztek & the V&A for the Digital Weekend's Tea Party in the garden of the V&A.

Raging Roger, the autonomous spitting teapot, scans its environment turning 180 degrees back and forth, stops as soon as a person in close proximity is detected and spits at him.

This project questions the ongoing automatisation of everyday life and highlights potential pitfalls that might appear in a humorous way by asking the question 'What if an everyday object suddenly would strike back?'. The robot, by trying to fulfil his innocuous task of serving tea, unwittingly creates an menacing interruption of Britain's most cherished tradition - the teatime.
